Girls soccer: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, May 6

St. Edward 4, Guerin 0: Corey LePoudre scored an unassisted goal and assisted Allison Kruk's score in a Suburban Christian win that moved the Green Wave to 19-2 overall and 8-0 in conference. Alex Zeller punched across a goal and an assist while Monica Ramirez added 1 goal and Casey Gredszieleski garnered 1 assist. Paige Dykstra didn't make any saves but recorded her 16th shutout.

Cary-Grove 8, Jacobs 0: The Trojans (8-6-1, 2-3) jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and scored 5 times in the second half of a Fox Valley Conference Valley win. Genna Sobieszczyk put 2 in the net and assisted on 2 scores while Emma Baker had 2 goals and 1 assist. Carli Petersen, Jenni Phillips and Kate Michie also scored each while Katie Conner assisted on 2 goals and Alex Airhart had an assist. Morgan Olsen made 2 saves in net.

Huntley 4, Dundee-Crown 0: Taryn Jakubowski scored twice and Jessica Galason stopped 5 D-C shots on net for the Red Raiders (12-5, 2-1) in a Fox Valley Conference Valley shutout in Huntley. Beth Parks hammered in a penalty kick and added an assist. Autumn Maraviglia also scored and both Jessica Helm and Alexandra Sunter assisted. Isabel Miranda managed 8 saves in goal for D-C. (2-8-3, 0-4).

Crystal Lake South 3, Johnsburg 3: The Gators (11-2-4) scored 3 times in the second half to earn a tie in a FVC crossover. Bree Marshall delivered 2 unassisted goals while Kimmy Sulikowski scored off a Brandie Minogue assist.

Genoa-Kingston 2, Harvest Christian 1: After clinching a Northeastern Athletic Conference championship on Monday, the Lions (9-6) fell behind 2-0 at the half and couldn't recover in a nonconference loss against the Cogs. Ellie Burzlaff's goal was provided by Morgan Lockwood. Rachel Oostdyk made 4 saves in net.

Woodstock 5, Hampshire 1: Lexie Maze registered the only goal for the Whip-Purs (3-10-1, 1-3) in FVC Fox action. Keeper Kaila Kienzler stopped 12 Woodstock shots.

Waubonsie Valley 4, Bartlett 0: Keeper Amanda Lozada corralled 12 saves for the Hawks (10-7-1, 1-5) but Bartlett couldn't get anything to go in a UEC Valley loss.

Geneva 6, Elgin 0: Hannah Demel had 5 saves for the Maroons (7-8) in a UEC River loss.

St. Charles East 8, Larkin 0: Alejandra Villagomez forged 10 saves for the Royals (2-15-2, 0-5) in an UEC River loss.
