Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's gala 'Game Day!' Sept 13

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's annual gala is Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Renaissance Convention Center, 1551 Thoreau Drive N, in Schaumburg.

This year's theme is "Game Day." Join the 2014 Gala Committee as they support Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Campus Modernization. Performing will be the Ron Bedal Orchestra.

Once again, there will be a wine auction and life-experience raffle prizes.

"Proceeds from the 2014 gala will be used for the campus modernization project at Good Shepherd Hospital," said Kendra Rosen, co-chairman. "Our committee is thrilled to help bring private rooms and a general modernization to Good Shepherd."

Each year, several hundred guests representing civic, corporate and social groups in the Northwest suburbs and Chicago attend this fundraising event. Game Day, is hosted by the 2014 Gala Committee, which is made up of 14 community members and business leaders under the guidance of co-chairpersons, Kendra Rosen and Barbara Warheit.

Community and business members include Larry Arndt, Alison Bozile, Lauren Brynjelsen, Kim Gockenbach, Kellie Hartman, Cynthia Kahn, Cory Lichtenberger, Kathy Liska, Mary McGregor, Bettye Traylor, Jeanne Varwig and Lori Young.

"This is my community, and I'm committed to partnering with our local hospital," Barbara Warheit, co-chairperson added. "The modernization project allows Good Shepherd to continue providing state-of-the art, high quality care as they take on the most expansive project since the hospital opened."

Since 1997, the gala has raised more than $2.5.million, which has helped shape the Women's Diagnostic Center, Spine Center of Excellence, Cancer Care Center and oncology related programs, Cardiac Care Center and cardiac related programs, Emergency Department expansion, Breast Care Center equipment, Patient Navigator Program, Congestive Heart Failure programs, as well as community-based healthy teens programs.
