Summer Sports Camps for Girls at Woodlands Academy

Girls in grades 7-12 can spend a week this summer sharpening their basketball, field hockey and volleyball skills at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart day camps. Sessions for each sport will be held the week of June 9-13 at the all-girls' high school, 760 E. Westleigh Road, Lake Forest. The schedule allows a girl to participate in basketball as well as either field hockey or volleyball:

• Basketball Camp - June 9-12 (M-Th) from noon to 2:30 p.m. - Under the direction of Woodlands Academy basketball coaching staff, campers will participate in a mix of skills instruction, individual daily contests and competitive games during this four-day session. Cost: $100.

• Volleyball Camp - June 9-13 (M-F) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. - Campers will experience a mix of skills instruction and game play under the direction of Rosemary Briesch, Woodlands Academy's varsity volleyball coach and athletic director, assisted by graduating seniors and alumnae during this five-day session. Cost: $125.

• Field Hockey Camp - June 9-12 (M-Th) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. - Under the direction of Amy Perry, varsity field hockey coach at Woodlands Academy, campers will learn individual and team skills during of this four-day session. Cost: $100.
