Girls soccer: Fox Valley roundup Monday, May 5

Huntley 8, Woodstock North 0: Jessica Helm ran up the stat sheet as the Red Raiders (11-5) scored all of their goals in the first half of a Fox Valley Conference crossover win. Helm garnered 4 goals and 1 assist while Taryn Jakubowski scored twice and added 1 assist. Alyssa Kaufman and Beth Parks each scored 1 goal while Kaufman and Sam Bessey had 1 assist apiece. Jessica Galason didn't have to stop anything in net.

St. Edward 7, Elmwood Park 0: The Green Wave (18-2) jumped out to a 5-goal lead within the first 18 minutes of a nonconference road win and Alex Zeller and Allison Kruk registered 2 goals each. Chelsea Gnan and Corey LePoudre each had 1 goal and 1 assist each and Monica Ramirez also scored. Paige Dykstra recorded her 15th shutout on 3 saves.

Streamwood 3, Wheeling 1: It was all Tawny Carroll and Shonali Pierce in a nonconference win for the Sabres (6-10-2). Carroll had 2 goals and 1 assist and Pierce did the opposite with 1 goal and 2 assists while Nathalie Guindon had 3 saves in goal for Streamwood.

Harvest Christian 3, Christian Life 0: Ellie Burzlaff and Morgan Lockwood had 1 goal and 1 assist each and Sydney Doby also notched a second half goal for Harvest in the Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Carol Kauffman also had an assist for the Lions (9-5, 5-0), who secured the program's first conference championship with the win.

Downers Grove North 2, Bartlett 1: The only goal for the Hawks (10-6-1) came on an unassisted goal by Mariela Alba in a loss at the West Chicago tournament. Keeper Amanda Lozada stopped 13 of the 15 shots her way.

Crystal Lake South 0, Crystal Lake Central 0: The Gators (11-2-3) and Tigers resumed a suspended game from April 12 and it stayed scoreless in Crystal Lake. South's Jaclyn Przybylski totaled 4 saves in the FVC crossover.

Hampshire 0, Belvidere North 0: The Whip-Purs (3-9-1) ended this nonconference matchup in a tie. Kaila Kienzler had 12 saves in net.

Schaumburg Christian 3, Elgin Academy 0: Sophomore keeper Emma May made 12 saves for the Hilltoppers in a nonconference loss.
