Austin Jetel allowed visiting Buffalo Grove only a pair of hits while striking out 12 to help Fremd earn a 2-0 victory in Mid-Suburban League crossover Friday.

Fremd (10-9, 5-4) did all its scoring in the second as Marcus Middlebrook led off with a single and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly from Joe Uhrich and the Vikings tacked on a run with a bases-loaded walk.

Jetel allowed just 1 walk.

Dan Levato tossed 3 scoreless innings for the Bison (5-14).

Elk Grove 6, Hoffman Estates 5: Peter Arbov went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and 2 RBI at the plate, and also contributed a scoreless relief inning to help the visiting Grens prevail.

Adam O'Malley also homered for Elk Grove (13-6), finishing 2-for-3 with a walk, and Johnny Assimakopoulos and Brandon Post had 2 hits apiece.

Hoffman Estates did all its scoring in the fifth inning, but Grens starter Daryl Rivera was able to go 6 innings and earn the victory.

Ethan Bloom went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and 2 RBI.

Prospect 8, Schaumburg 5: Grant Miller, Jackson Wrede and Jake Cavaiani each drove in 2 runs from their spots near the bottom of the batting order to help the visiting Knights tops the Saxons.

Tom Flahaven went 1-for-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases for Prospect (13-6-1).

Mike Smith (5 IP, 2 earned runs) and Danny Devereux (2 IP, 3 K's) handled pitching duties for the Knights, who have won four of their last five games.

Barrington 9, Rolling Meadows 3: Jake Petersen finished 3-for-3 with a homer and 3 RBI as the host Broncos broke open a close game with a 5-run rally in the sixth inning.

Brendan Battle had a pair of hits for the Broncos, and Shane Yorton, Luke Johnson and Anthony Lombardi each doubled.

Richie Stefan pitched the first 5 innings for Barrington (19-6) and got the win, and Brad Powell tossed 2 scoreless relief innings to earn save.

Palatine 9, Hersey 2: Zach Serna hit a solo homer and Nolan Gavin tripled and drove in 3 runs to pace host Palatine's victory.

Both teams had 7 hits and 2 errors, but Pirates starter Matthew Trembley limited Hersey to singles in a complete-game victory with 7 strikeouts.

Matt Saltess and Joey Roy both doubles for Palatine (12-11), which snapped a three-game skid.

CJ Reichel and Brett Harris had 2 hits apiece for Hersey (8-11-1).

Deerfield 4, Maine West 3: The visiting Warriors pushed across 3 runs in the first inning but got nothing more as Deefield took the lead for good with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Eric Outlaw doubled and scored, and Crosley Duckmann had 2 of Maine West's 5 hits.

Matt Swanson struck out nine and went 6 inning for Maine West (5-12) in suffering the loss.

Conant 8, Wheeling 8 (11 inn.): Both teams scored once in the 11th inning to remain deadlocked in MSL play at Conant.

Jake Jordan doubled and drove in 2 runs for Wheeling. Brenden Spillane had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs, and Nathan Cooney and Brian Lorey had 2 hits each.

Justin Webb (6 IP, 4 ER) and Lorey (5 IP, 1 ER) split the pitching duties for the Wildcats.

Conant's plate standouts included J.T. Peacock (2 doubles, 2 RBI), Brady Pelesh (4-for-6), Dan Modelski (3-for-5, walk) and Matt Fauth (2-for-5, double, 3 RBI).

Steve Bola (7⅓ IP, 1 ER) and Brian Polaski (3⅔ IP, 3 ER) pitched for the Cougars (7-15-1).
