Conant's bats boom
Conant 13, Hoffman Estates 3 (5 inn.): The host Cougars banged out 17 hits in picking up an MSL West baseball triumph Thursday.
Anthony Forte went 3-for-3 with a double and 4 runs scored, while Matt Fauth drove in 5 runs and finished 2-for-3.
Brady Pelesh, Jimmy Brady, Dan Modelski and Zach Gale each had 2 hits, and Gino Corona and Jordan Wolff doubled for the Cougars (7-15) as Mike Matej earned the pitching decision.
Matt Roesch doubled and finished 2-for-3 for Hoffman Estates.
Barrington 6, Fremd 4 (8 inn.): A 2-run error in the eighth inning proved costly for Fremd as Barrington topped the host Vikings.
Jake Peterson had big day for Barrington, with a homer and a triple to go with 2 RBI.
Mack Rosman had solo homer for Fremd (9-9), and Austin Jetel also had a round-tripper.
Anthony DeLaurentis pitched 6 innings for Barrington, and Dan Kubiuk earned a win in relief.
Fremd's Anthony Douvris allowed only 4 hits in his 6⅔ innings but suffered the loss.
Schaumburg 11, Palatine 3: The visiting Saxons produced 10 hits and also drew 7 walks to earn an MSL victory.
Palatine (12-11) got 2 hits apiece from Matt Saltess, while Zach Serna doubled, tripled and scored twice.
Meadows 3, Wheeling 2 (9 inn.): Rolling Meadows prevailed 3-2 against Wheeling in the completion of Tuesday's game, which had been suspended due to a time limit Heritage Park. Brett Gibson earned the win for Rolling Meadows.
