Jenny Behan hit 2 home runs in a game for the third time this season, as Carmel Catholic's softball team held off host St. Viator 7-5 in East Suburban Catholic Conference action Wednesday.
Kathleen Felicelli also homered for Carmel. She went 2-for-2 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored. Madi Demarco was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI for the Corsairs. Behan also walked and scored 3 runs.
Claire Petrus got the win.
Sam Hogan had 4 hits and 4 RBI for St. Viator.
Grant 11, Vernon Hills 0: Caityn Moran pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 8 strikeouts, and McKenzie Sancken and Sarah Ayala both went 2-for-3 with a triple for the visiting Bulldogs in the North Suburban Prairie game.
Grant (10-6, 4-2) got doubles from Ayala, Moran, Kaitlyn Wold and Jamie Reiser.
Vernon Hills fell to 4-14, 2-4.
Stevenson 11, Lake Forest 0: Vera Pflugradt hit a 3-run homer in the third inning, and Taylor Koenigs followed with a solo shot, as the host Patriots won the North Suburban Lake game in five innings.
Pflugradt also doubled. She and Jordan Cortesi both finished 2-for-3 for Stevenson (7-12, 2-4).
Myra Peterson got the win, allowing only 1 hit (a single), while striking out four in 5 innings.
Grayslake North 4, Dundee-Crown 2: Kelsey Delahunty was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Jenny Moore doubled and drove in 3 runs for the Knights in the Fox Valley Conference game.
Sophomore Jessica Vaughn earned the win.
