David Adler Music and Arts Center to host annual fundraiser

The David Adler Music and Arts Center will host its annual fundraising event Saturday, May 17, featuring a silent auction, a celebrity cooking demonstration and local music performances.

Proceeds will fund art and music scholarships for students and will also help with upkeep of the Adler estate, a premier architectural landmark in Lake County.

The event features a silent art auction that will showcase works from local and regional artists. Renowned Chef Jay Lovell of Lovell's of Lake Forest will provide a cooking demonstration and prepare appetizers for the event, while guests will be entertained by the music of the Adler faculty and students.

"I have exhibited my work at the Adler Center," said local artist Jeanne Sapienza-Prinz. "My children take classes there, we just adore the center. I am happy to donate some of my work to their auction. They are very supportive of the arts and the artistic community."

The event is from 6 to 10 p.m. at the center, 1700 North Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. Tickets are $75 per person. Call (847) 367-0707 or visit www.adlercenter.org. Admission includes access to the auction, live entertainment, beer by Tighthead brewery, wine, and food from Lovell's, Sunset and Shakou Sushi.

"We host this event almost every year, but this is our first fundraising event located at the Center," said Amy Williams, executive director.

"We are so thrilled for everyone to see this amazing place that many people drive by daily but are unaware of. We plan on using this event to provide scholarship and outreach programs and opportunities for our music and art classes, as well as raise awareness and preserve the David Adler legacy."
