Hanover Park police accepting overnight parking requests online

Hanover Park residents who want to park on village streets overnight can fill out a form through their computer, smartphone or other mobile device after the police department's online parking database goes live May 1.

The department will no longer accept phone calls from residents who seek permission to park on the street between 2 and 6 a.m.

Instead, they can complete a form available on the village's website, Hpil.org. They will receive an email confirming or denying the request based on village ordinances.

Patrol officers also will be able to access the database from squad cars to see if vehicles are cleared to park overnight.

If residents lack Internet access, they can fill out the form at the department's headquarters, 2011 Lake St. For details, contact police at (630) 823-5500.
