'Palatine Hills is perfect for knowledgeable golfers'

Q: Tell us about the course? History, etc.

A. Palatine Hills was designed by the late Ed Packard and opened in 1968. It is an 18 hole parkland golf course that requires golfers to use all the clubs in their bag during a round. The par 4 holes range in distance from 335 to 456 yards and par 3 holes range from 165 to 228 yards. In addition, players must contend with 29 bunkers and water that comes into play on 10 holes.

Q: What is new at Palatine Hills?

A: Our newly renovated clubhouse offers a scenic location for your next meeting, party, or group gathering. The clubhouse includes seating for over 75 people, a private room that can accommodate 24 people, an outdoor deck with sound system, a newly redesigned bar and restaurant area, newly remodeled bathrooms, changing rooms, and six televisions with media connections for presentations.

Q: Many would not think of a park district as a venue for an event. What do you have to offer at Palatine Hills Golf Course?

A: Palatine Hills can offer you a great value, flexible dates and customized amenities based on the size and needs of your group. We host outings from 136 person fundraisers to 16 person family reunions. There are 6 sets of tees that will provide a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all ages.

The newly remodeled clubhouse is the perfect place to stop in for lunch or dinner and is also a great destination after your round. With all new finishes, new restrooms, and a newly remodeled private dining area, the clubhouse is perfect for events from showers to business meetings. Q: What type of events do you hold?

A: A variety of events are held including a free parent/child clinic, Club Championships, couples events, junior leagues and a night outing. Many additional events are offered by the Palatine Hills Golf Association, a group dedicated to promoting the best interest in the game of golf, including good fellowship and sportsmanship.

Q: Tell us about the atmosphere.

A: As a mature 18 hole course, Palatine Hills is perfect for knowledgeable golfers. But PHGC is also a great destination for family golf. With options including evening Family & Friends rates, junior camps and lessons, a driving range and putting area, and a parent-child clinic, Palatine Hills offers golf for the entire family.

Q: Tell us one fact about PHGC that most may not know.

A: One of the issues with golf these days is the hectic lives that families lead. We appreciate when people choose to spend some of their valuable time at Palatine Hills.

Therefore we strive to tee you off at your scheduled time and our pace of play is no more than 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Also, Palatine Hills Golf Course is a facility of the Palatine Park District, which many people don't realize.

Q: Are you seeing things picking up in the industry?

A: Yes, the golf industry is picking up. Numbers have been increasing in some of our nine hole leagues. More families have been utilizing our driving range and golf course.
