Hersey, Palatine finish perfect divisional runs

The boys water polo teams from Hersey and Palatine completed unbeaten runs through their Mid-Suburban League divisional foes on Monday after clinching outright championships last week.

Hersey finished league play with a 10-3 victory over Prospect, as George Vladimirov (5 goals) and Jake Hall and Jack Carroll (2 each) led the way for the Huskies (17-4 overall).

Palatine topped Conant 11-8 as Wally Kleinfeldt and Omar El Hoffi each drew 4 ejections.

Kleinfeldt led Palatine (16-4) with 6 goals and Kris Kalev had 3, while Jacob Baran contributed 6 steals and goalie Charlie Davis had 9 blocks.

Palatine and Hersey will meet for the Mid-Suburban League title next week.
