Manufacturer shutting down McHenry County factory

Executives at a manufacturing company say they're laying off 135 workers and closing a factory in Ringwood.

Modine Manufacturing engineers and manufactures heat transfer products.

The Racine, Wis.-based company said that it plans to close the McHenry County facility over the course of the next 18 months. A company spokeswoman said a bulk of the layoffs will take place in 2015.

Production will be moved to other Modine plants in the U.S. and Mexico.

The (Crystal Lake) Northwest Herald reported the factory opened in 1951 and makes light-duty vehicular and automotive segments.
