The Tigers (7-4, 5-1) earned the DuPage Valley Conference sweep in eight innings when Baylor Holmes singled home Ben Flores with the game-winning run. Chris Simpson went the distance while allowing only 4 hits and striking out six. Austin Polezoes went 2-for-3.
Wheaton North 5, Naperville North 1:
The Falcons (7-8, 3-3) took two of three from Naperville North (7-6, 3-3) in the DuPage Valley Conference series. Andrew Slivinski went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Greg Sells drove in 2 runs. Zach Colangelo pitched 5 innings to pick up the win. Dan Riley went 2-for-4 for the Huskies.
Metea Valley 5, Neuqua Valley 4:
The Mustangs (7-6, 4-3) scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning of the Upstate Eight Conference game on P.J. Archey's RBI single. Archey and Gunner Vega each had 2 hits. Reliever Sam Janus picked up with win and Ben Belskis earned the save. Josh Piotrowski, Alex DiFranco and Tyler Tesmond had 2 hits for Neuqua Valley (6-8, 5-4).
West Chicago 6, Bartlett 5:
The Wildcats (8-6, 4-5) broke out to a 6-0 fourth-inning lead in their second straight Upstate Eight Conference win over Bartlett. Jon Michiels doubled and drove in 4 runs. Grant Hosticka and Alex Cabral combined on the mound.
Naperville Central 6, Glenbard East 0:
The Redhawks (10-6, 5-1) swept in the DuPage Valley Conference as Bobby McMillen went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, a triple and 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Glenn Kozlowski allowed 3 hits and struck out three in 6 innings. Kevin Clifford drove in 2 runs. Tyler Behrendt, Tommy Mogavero and Joe Ritchie had hits for Glenbard East (8-9, 2-4).
Glenbard South 8, Timothy Christian 1:
Dominic Fazzari pitched a 3-hitter for the Raiders (11-3, 7-0), who will go for the Metro Suburban Conference sweep on Thursday. Dylan Brambora doubled twice, scored twice and drove in 2 runs. Carter Johnson drove in the lone run for Timothy Christian (4-10, 1-7).
Waubonsie Valley 8, East Aurora 0:
Tyler Hasper and Ben Vietri went 3-for-3 and doubled twice for the Warriors (10-4, 6-1) in the Upstate Eight Conference victory. Winning pitcher Nick Drago went the distance in a 4-hitter with 6 strikeouts.
Wheaton Academy 8, Glenbard West 6:
The Warriors (6-9) scored 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth to seize control of the nonconference victory. Tanner Phillipps went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Luke Kram scattered 6 hits in 6 innings. Jake Lindstedt pitched a scoreless seventh for the save. Drew Vogg and Will Simoneit, who drove in 3 runs, homered for Glenbard West (10-5).
Glenbard North 2, Lake Park 2:
After going nine innings on Wednesday, the DuPage Valley Conference teams played nine for a second straight day before being suspended due to darkness. The finale of the series will continue at 3 p.m. Thursday.
