Trinity International University's Concert Choir Performs May 4 in Deerfield

The Trinity International University Concert Choir will perform on Sunday afternoon, May 4, at 3:00 pm in the ATO Chapel on the Deerfield campus, located at 2065 Half Day Road. Tickets are $8 for General Admission, $5 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at the door or by calling 847-317-8021.

The choir, accompanied by Trinity's own Community Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform Franz Schubert's "Mass in G" as well as songs from their recent tour through Colorado, Nebraska, and Iowa during TIU's Spring Break in March.

The Concert Choir is Trinity's premier choral organization. This co-ed group, which typically stands in a mixed rather than sectional formation, has a repertoire that includes chant, 16th-century polychoral masterpieces, late 20th-century music, spirituals, and contemporary gospel settings. The group, which travels both nationally and internationally, has more than 40 members and welcomes both music and non-music majors to participate.

Dr. Paul J. Satre, Professor of Music and University Organist at Trinity, will conduct the choir. He is a graduate of TIU and the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, and has had several of his choral arrangements published. Dr. Satre has conducted and toured with collegiate choirs throughout the United States and overseas and has taught courses in music theory, conducting, piano, composition, church music, and jazz. Dr. Satre is an active performer on the piano and organ, as well as the principal organist at the Moody Church in Chicago.
