Singer Lee Murdock sings about the Great Lakes

Singer/songwriter Lee Murdock will perform "Songs of the Great Lakes Region" at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the Carnegie Room at the St. Charles Public Library.

The new and traditional folk ballads bring history to life in the stories, song, and pioneering spirit of the Great Lakes and Midwest settlers.

Murdock began his career in the Chicago area in the mid-1970s, expanding his repertoire of blues and popular music as his interest in folk music and the maritime tradition grew. Broadly acknowledged as the premier interpreter of songs and tales about the Great Lakes, Murdock's concert is entertainment for the entire family.

The free concert is sponsored by the St. Charles Public Library Foundation.

The St. Charles Public Library is at One S. Sixth Ave. in St. Charles. For more information, visit www.st.charleslibrary.org or call (630) 584-0076, ext. 240.
