DeLaurentis' 1-hitter lifts Barrington

Anthony DeLaurentis allowed just 1 hit as host Barrington produced a 10-0, 6-inning victory over Buffalo Grove in a Mid-Suburban League divisional baseball crossover Thursday.

DeLaurentis struck out 10 and walked 3 while yielding just a single.

Barrington (11-5) bashed out 14 hits.

Mitch Pfeiffer, Jake Petersen and Jack Lenz each had 2 hits for Barrington, and Shane Yorton homered and drove in 2 runs.

Hoffman Estates 4, Prospect 3: The visiting Knights tied it with a run in the top of the seventh, only to see the Hawks finish the game with a run of their own in the bottom half.

Mike Piotrowski doubled and drove in 2 runs for Prospect (8-3-1), and Jackson Wrede had a double.

Ethan Bloom had 2 hits and drew 2 walks for Hoffman Estates, which got a complete-game victory from Brad Demmon (7 strikeouts, 5 hits). Demmon also drove in the winning run, while Jeff Mayes had a hit, 2 walks and scored twice.

Elk Grove 7, Conant 5: Josh Bergbreiter went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and 3 RBI to power visiting Elk Grove in an MSL crossover.

Peter Arbov allowed 3 earned runs on 10 hits and 4 strikeouts over 6 innings to earn the victory.

Brady Pelesh had 3 hits for Conant, and Anthony Forte had 2 hits, including a double.

Schaumburg 5, Wheeling 2: Michael Fan and Jack Holden doubled as host Schaumburg pushed across 3 runs in the fifth inning to make a winner of Jack Bellinger in an MSL crossover.

Nathan Cooney homered for the Wildcats but suffered the pitching loss.

Rolling Meadows 5, Palatine 4: The host Pirates (9-7) rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't quite enough to catch the Mustangs (6-3) in an MSL crossover.

Fremd 12, Hersey 11: Host Fremd trailed 7-0 at one point but did all its scoring over the final 3 innings to edge the Huskies in MSL crossover play.

Austin Jetel finished 2-for-5 with a double, Matt Gura was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and Mack Rosman hit a solo homer and scored 4 runs as the Vikings (7-4) made the most of 7 hits and 3 Hersey errors.

Alex Stremel got a win with 2 innings of relief for Fremd.

Joe Silva went 3-for-5 and CJ Reichel finished 2-for-3 with 2 walks and 2 RBI for Hersey (4-7-1).

St. Viator 7, Notre Dame 6: Things looked bleak for the visiting Lions, but they scored 5 runs to take the lead in the top of the seventh on the way to an East Suburban Catholic Conference win.

Jason Wilhite doubled twice, one of them driving in a run in the seventh, and Mack Rooney also had 2 hits for St. Viator (13-3).

Colin Perry got the win in relief and Wilhite got the last three outs to earn a save.

Christian Liberty splits: The Chargers picked up a 5-3 victory against Alden-Hebron along with suffering a 1-0 loss in Notheastern Athletic Conference play.

Dylan Antonides earned a victory and Aaron Rot got a save in Christian Liberty's win. Rot pitched well in the Chargers' loss as Alden-Hebron managed just 2 hits.
