Naperville man accused of selling heroin

Authorities have accused a 19-year-old man of dealing heroin out of an apartment complex in Naperville.

Amari D. Hill, 19, of the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue, was taken into custody by police March 18 after selling an undercover officer 49 bags of heroin in a parking lot near Jefferson and Ogden avenues, according to a Thursday news release.

The heroin had a total weight of 28 grams with a street value of $1,000, police said.

Police say they learned in early February that someone was dealing "large quantities" of heroin from an apartment complex on Jefferson. They identified Hill as a suspect and proceeded to make multiple purchases of heroin from him as part of an undercover investigation, according to the news release.

Police said Hill was transporting heroin from the West Side of Chicago to the Naperville area.

Hill was formally charged with one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He has since been released after posting bond.
