Wesley Methodist Church in Aurora stages 'Living Last Supper'

A second annual "Living Last Supper" will be staged at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 17 and 18, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora.

The production is based on Earnest K. Emurian's script and Leonardo da Vinci's painting of Jesus Christ's last supper with his disciples. During the drama, 12 disciples ask "Is it I?" about the betrayal of Jesus.

The cast includes the Rev. John Bell, Wesley UMC pastor, as Jesus. Apostles are Peter, J.T. Connell; John, Josh Reynolds; James, Dave Studdard; Philip, Bob McKnight; James the Lesser, Jonathan Akyea; Matthew, Fred Neumann; Nathaniel, Nathan Connell; Andrew, Bruce Lindgren; Thomas, Bill Garbe; Judas, Joe Rigaud; Thaddaeus, Bill Frazier; and Simon the Zealot, Larry Miller.

Roman guards are Herb John and Sanath Cristanujaya. Michael Rumple will narrate. Co-directors are Jim Merk and Meredith Lindgren.

Reserved seating will take place from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. Doors will close at 7 p.m. Free child care will be available in the church nursery. Music will include a women's chorus.
