St. Martin's Episcopal Church to Host Blood Drive on May 3rd
Did you know a single blood donation can save up to three lives? On Saturday, May 3rd, St. Martin's Episcopal Church located at 1095 E. Thacker St., Des Plaines, IL, will host a blood drive from 12:00 noon - 6:00 pm.
The blood drive is being hosted in memory of Sadie Elizabeth McCann. Sadie was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Aicardi Syndrome, and passed away in November of 2013 at 3 1/2 years of age. Sadie received multiple blood transfusions during her short life.
LifeSource, a local independent blood center, will manage the blood drive. Donors must be 17 years old or older and weigh at least 110 lbs. To schedule an appointment, please call 877-543-3768 or register online at www.lifesource.org using donor code 569B.
