Guests sampled cheese puffs, tacos, ravioli and more at the fourth annual Taste Takes Flight, Thursday, April 3, at the Chicago Marriott Northwest, 4800 Hoffman Blvd, Hoffman Estates. Tasting stations were set up throughout the ballroom with amply time to sample and savor throughout the evening.
Fifteen chefs from throughout Chicagoland donated their time, talents and food to this event. Chef Lee Wolen, executive chef/partner at BOKA, was this year's guest chef. When seated at their assigned tables, guests could interact one-on-one with the chefs and the chefs had the opportunity to talk about their establishments and cuisine. The International House of Wine & Cheese provided the wine and spirits for the evening. In addition, well-known mixologist, Jenny Kessler, created several signature cocktails.
Dr. Dimple Tejani was honored with the second annual WOW/HOW Leadership award for providing free dental services to WINGS' clients.
A highlight of the live auction was a trip to the Wente Family Estate Winery, in California, where the winner will have access to golf, a private wine tasting, dinner and more. Auctioneer Ron Bernardi did an excellent job guiding bidders through the process.
Proceeds from this event help support WINGS' (Women in Need Growing Stronger) Building Safer Futures campaign. WINGS provides housing and services to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
