A man was shot in the hand Monday morning in Waukegan, police said.
Police were called at about 10 a.m. to the area of Washington Street and Phillippa Avenue for a gunshot wound, Waukegan Police Commander Joe Florip said.
Police declined to a give a description of the shooter, saying the investigation remains open.
"There's no threat to the community," Florip said. "We believe it to be an isolated incident."
The victim, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was taken to a nearby hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury.
