Mount Prospect Irish Fest is April 12

The 2014 festival season kicks off in the Northwest suburbs with Irish Fest, from 2-11 p.m. Saturday, April 12 in downtown Mount Prospect.

A huge heated tent in the Chase Bank parking lot, Emerson Street and Busse Avenue, will hose Celtic music, Irish food and beer.

Performances are:

• 2-2:30 p.m. Sullivan Irish Dancers

• 2:30-3 p.m. Trinity Irish Dancers

• 3:30-5 p.m. The Dooley Brothers

• 5:30-7:30 p.m. They Might Be Irish

• 8-11 p.m. Larkin and Moran Brothers

Free parking is available across the street in the Village Hall parking deck.

Food vendors include Olympus Gyros, serving fish & chips; Mount Prospect Firefighter Union Local 4119, serving hamburgers, hot dogs and Harrington's corned beef sandwiches; the chamber of commerce, selling Guinness, Harp and other beverages.

Vendors include Paddy's on the Square of Long Grove, Galway Bakers, Completely Nuts, and the Mount Prospect Junior Women's Club.
