ComEd employee volunteers begin National Volunteer Week assisting individuals with developmental disabilities

Employee volunteers from ComEd partnered with the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association to honor National Volunteer Week on Saturday, April 5.

The volunteers hosted and assisted individuals with developmental disabilities during a bowling outing at the Bowling Green Sports Center in West Chicago.

More than 100 athletes of all ages with developmental disabilities were on hand for a fun time as they tried their luck at bowling.

Fox Valley Special Recreation Association enriches the lives of people within the communities it serves. Formed in 1976, it provides a diverse range of year-round recreational opportunities to enable residents with developmental disabilities to experience active, healthy and playful lifestyles.

The volunteer event was part of ComEd's company-wide observance of National Volunteer Week (April 6-12), an annual nationwide celebration of people working to improve their communities through service.
