Kingdom Advancement Center joins with Holy Trinty Elgin in telling the Christmas Story

On Saturday, Dec. 17, all are invited to a retelling of the Christmas Story with songs at a joint celebration with Kingdom Advancement Center and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

The event will be held at 3 p.m. in Lind Hall of Holy Trinity, 357 Divsion St. in downtown Elgin.

The afternoon of song and story (actually a pageant!) will feature a visit from St. Nick, hot cocoa and cookies.

For children, the event will include giveaways of toys, hats, mittens, and food. items are being provided by Northern Illinois Food Bank.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, organist Matt Wahl will be presenting a Christmas organ recital at 2 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Elgin sanctuary. He is a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, American Guild of Organists, Organ Historical Society, and the Royal School of Church Music.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church's organ was funded partly by a large donation from the Carnegie family in 1909. In 1964, the current instrument was installed - a new Austin organ (Opus 2402).
