Garage fire spreads inside Barrington home

A fire that started in the garage of a Barrington home Wednesday afternoon spread inside, damaging the attic, fire officials said.

Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District responded to the call just after 3 p.m. on the 1000 block of South Grove Avenue, fire officials said in a release.

Firefighters arrived to heavy fire within the attached garage that spread to the home and attic, firefighters said.

Nobody was injured in the blaze. Assisting departments were Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Cary, Fox River Grove, Lake Zurich, and Buffalo Grove. The fire remains under investigation.
