Crystal Lake chamber names new president

Mary Margaret Maule has been named president of the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, effective April 14.

Maule's background includes public and private sector experience in serving in Illinois state government, not-for-profit organizations and local business and service organizations. She was chosen from a field of more than 20 candidates in a nationwide search directed by the chamber's selection committee over the last several months.

Maule is currently is adjunct faculty member at McHenry County College and will finish out this school year before fully committing to this position on May 9, the chamber's board of directors said in a release.

She is the current president of the board of the Court Appointed Special Advocates of McHenry County and 2010 graduate of Leadership Greater McHenry County. She is active in veteran related causes and is the founder and facilitator of Voices of Veterans, a writing group open to the veterans and their families.

Mary Margaret lives in Johnsburg with her husband of 28 years, Jack. They have three children Aeysha (26), Terrance (24) and Ian (22).

The chamber will hold a reception mixer to welcome Maule from 5-7 p.m. Aoril 22 at the chhamber building, 427 W. Virgina St. All community members are welcome.
