St. Charles to hold a city update

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is organizing a city update, to be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in council chambers at the city's municipal building, 2 E. Main St.

The event will provide time for people to meet with city staff, followed by staff presentations focused on current opportunities and challenges facing the downtown district, as well as programs and services available to business and property owners. The session will end with a moderated question-and-answer session.

This program is part of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership's Business Exchange programming, which provides networking and education for downtown business and property owners. "We are excited to provide an opportunity to get this group of city and business leaders together, so our constituents can stay informed about what is going on downtown from an economic development perspective. It also gives our constituents an opportunity to meet and talk to some of the city staff that they call on when they have questions," stated Lynne Schwartz, executive director of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership.

City Administrator Mark Koenen welcomes the opportunity to have a conversation with the downtown business community: "Our downtown is a unique part of our identity here in St. Charles and we look forward to offering downtown business and property owners an update on our activities as well as hearing what they have to say."

This program is open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Anyone interested in attending can email the Downtown St. Charles Partnership at info@downtownstcharles.org or call the office at (630) 443-3962.
