Wheeling Step Team to compete at nationals

Wheeling High School's award-winning step team, Crucial Step Clique, has done it again and won the Illinois Drill Team Association's state championship as well as the Illinois Stepping League's coed state competition.

This is the fifth consecutive year that CSC has been named IDTA State Champs. The team will compete in the National Step Show Alliance's Step Championships at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. The national competition is being hosted at Wheeling High School, 900 S. Elmhurst Road, in Wheeling.

Tanisha Brewer and Lauren Miles coach the highly acclaimed step team, which includes Jazmin Morales, Tania Arellano, Ashley Zawacki, Ashley Sicard, Naya Clemons, Iris Torres, Jonathan Alba, Gio Peralta, Keely Segura, Jennifer Hernandez, Amy Nava, Arlene Carlos, and Jessica Tellez.
