Go green at Peck Farm Park's Earth Day celebration

Celebrate Earth Day the green way with the Natural Resources Committee of Geneva from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road, Geneva.

This free, family-friendly event will feature a green market with local merchants, rain barrels and compost bins for sale, a bicycle tune-up shop, free paper shredding, electronic recycling, chair massages, health screenings, games for children, and more.

As part of the Earth Day Celebration, Geneva Park District will celebrate the reopening of Hawks Hollow Nature Playground with a Grand "Hatching" Event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Explore the playground with a nature scavenger hunt through its eight interactive learning stations featuring native bird species and natural elements.

Hawks Hollow Nature Playground is a 2014 Illinois Parks & Recreation Outstanding Facility that engages visitors in environmental education through hands-on activities and unstructured play.
