Schaumburg police seek witnesses to fatal crash
Schaumburg police are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred about 10:40 a.m. Monday, March 31 at the intersection of Irving Park Road and Mitchell Boulevard.
The crash involved a Chevy Malibu and Chevy Tahoe. A Schaumburg woman, 78-year-old Matalda Gallo, who was a passenger in the Malibu, died as a result of the crash.
Investigators have spoken with several witnesses who stopped at the scene, but are asking that anyone else who may have seen the crash or either of the vehicles just prior to the crash contact them. Call the department's traffic unit at (847) 882-3534.
No charges have been filed at this time in connection with the collision.
