Elgin teen faces felony drug charges

An 18-year-old Elgin man faces felony drug charges after an investigation by Elgin and South Elgin police.

Nevan Jeske, of the 1000 block of Willow Bay, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of marijuana. On Saturday, a Kane County judge set his bail at $35,000.

Elgin's narcotics unit was alerted by neighbors of suspected drug sales, police said.

After weeks of investigation, Elgin police executed a search warrant on the 1000 block of Willow Bay Friday. Police seized 60 grams of marijuana along with items indicative of drug sales, authorities said.

"I want to commend the South Elgin Police Department for their assistance and the concerned citizens who came forward to report this type of activity," Police Chief Jeffrey Swoboda said in a statement.
