'Tiny Thumbelina' takes the stage at Steel Beam Theatre

Steel Beam Children's Theatre, 111 W. Main St., St. Charles, will present "Tiny Thumbelina," a musical, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, and running for four weekends.

This presentation by a cast of talented young actors from the Fox Valley is directed and choreographed by JZ Zaeske of Downers Grove and music directed by Amy Steele of Naperville.

Bella Clarey of Batavia plays the title role in this classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson which tells the charming story of the woman who plants a magic seed provided by Grace Lagattolla played by Sussie Spider of Elburn which grows into the tiny girl named Thumbelina. She has many adventures, including meeting a Prince played by Tyler Strohl of St. Charles, and Princess played by Clara Patterson of Batavia; a family of Toads: Lindsay Peters of West Chicago, Grace Couter of Geneva, and Maria Kantak of St. Charles; the Rat is played by Reagan Lubbin of Geneva, the Mouse by Melisa Barrick of Geneva; Cat by Madison Conrad of St. Charles; Swallow by Charlotte Avery of St. Charles; and a Beetle family of Allie Thompson and Evelyn Hurh of St. Charles. Ashley Peters of West Chicago plays Useful Person, Molly Burgan of St. Charles plays Sister, and Carrie Loria of Geneva plays Bertha. The show is assistant directed by Beth Kahan and Celina DiCiaula, and additional choreography is provided by Christina Zaeske.

Performances are 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays through April 27. Tickets are $15, $10 for children with reservations at SteelBeamTheatre.com.
