Nicole D'Ambrose's hot start to the soccer season continued Wednesday night, as the junior scored 3 goals in Lakes' 6-2 win over host Zion-Benton.

D'Ambrose tallied the Eagles' first two goals and added her third after halftime, hiking her season goal total to 6. She also had an assist

Maya Schmitt added a goal and 2 assists for Lakes (3-1), which led 2-1 at halftime on D'Ambrose's pair of tallies. Jessica Cipolla and Alessandra Nitti also scored.

Vernon Hills 4, Glenbrook North 1: Kaitlin Gramins and Rebecca Bahlmann scored in the first half, and Katherine Koczwara and Haley Lieberman netted goals in the second half for the Cougars.

Koczwara, Kristen Guglielmi and Kelsey Seal had assists for Vernon Hills (1-1-1).

Antioch 3, Round Lake 1: Mikayla Abbeduto figured on all three goals for the Sequoits, scoring twice and assisting on Kristen Kelly's goal in the North Suburban Prairie Division opener.

Antioch (2-1) led 2-0 at halftime, before Round Lake got a goal from Melissa Mejia.
