Antioch Arbor Day events:

Daily Herald report

Village of Antioch hosts the Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26. This year's project will focus on the Gages Brothers Park and Hiram Buttrick Sawmill, 770 Cunningham, from 9 a.m. to noon. The work will be to revitalize the park's entry beds, tree rings, and remove any trash from around the facility. The majority of the work for this year's event has been planned by public works staff members Tom Dvorak, Tanner Dowell and Scott Dewar. The Arbor Day event will coincide with the environmental commission's EcoFair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Antioch Elementary School gym, 817 Main St., where many green technologies and services will be present for resident to learn about. For information, call (847) 395-2160 or email at parks@antioch.il.gov.
