Police: Woman ejected when motorcycle hits curb

A 33-year-old woman was injured when she was ejected from the motorcycle she was driving Sunday afternoon at Route 25 and Fabyan Parkway, authorities said.

Samantha Kannon of Brookfield was turning to head west on Fabyan Parkway from Route 25 about 4 p.m. Sunday when one of the two rear wheels of her 1993 Honda motorcycle hit the curb, Geneva police Cmdr. Eric Passarelli said.

The crash sent Kannon over the handlebars of her bike, which then continued moving forward and rolled over her, Passarelli said. Kannon was the only rider on her motorcycle, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Batavia Fire Department was called to the scene at 4:06 p.m. and arrived at 4:11 p.m. to begin treating Kannon and take her to Delnor Hospital. Information about Kannon's condition was not immediately available Monday, and Passarelli said she might have been transferred to another hospital.

Traffic was shut down for a period while police investigated the scene, but Passarelli said no known road or weather conditions contributed to the crash. Authorities said the site was cleared by 5:49 p.m.
