Des Plaines gas station robbed

A Des Plaines gas/auto service station was robbed Tuesday by a man with a gun, Des Plaines police reported Friday.

On Tuesday at around 9:30 p.m., the man, wearing sunglasses and dressed in a white and tan short-sleeved shirt, walked into the store on the 1600 block of South River Road and raised a black handgun, police said.

Police said he pointed the gun at the victim, stating, "Give me money."

The victim handed the offender approximately $30 in cash from the register, police said.

The offender then said, "Give me more," after which the victim heard two clicking noises.

The victim then gave the offender more money, The offender then ran out the front door along the north side of the building and then headed west.
