St. Charles North Drill team to hold tryouts

The St. Charles North High School Drill team will host tryouts for the 2014-2015 school year in April.

This year, the team took high honors as Grand Champions in the 3A Division TeamDance Illinois State Competition held in Peoria in March.

The St. Charles North High School teams, which have won 15 state championship titles in 12 years, are coached by Nancy Prentiss for varsity, and Colleen Kobler for junior varsity.

Some news for 2014-15 team is that this year's team has the opportunity to dance in the halftime show at the Orange Bowl in Florida.

Last year, the team danced the halftime show at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis.

The tryout information meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at St. Charles North High School cafeteria, 255 Red Gate Road.

The first practice will be April 15; first tryout is April 17; second practice is April 22; and final cut is April 24.
