Waubonsee to host job fair

Waubonsee Community College will be the destination of choice for jobseekers in the region when the college hosts its Spring Job and Internship Fair Friday, April 11. The job fair is scheduled to run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Academic and Professional Center on Waubonsee's Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.

Almost four dozen employers have registered to meet with jobseekers that day, and the college expects that number to double by April 11.

Employers already registered to offer job openings at the job fair include: Peacock Engineering, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Alarm Detection Systems, World Relief, Illinois Department of Transportation, KishHealth System, Rush-Copley Medical Center, Industrial Hard Chrome, Menards, FedEx and many others. For a complete listing, visit www.waubonsee.edu/jobfairs.

Jobseekers planning to attend the job fair are encouraged to research the employers who will be attending; to dress professionally; to bring plenty of resumes; and to be prepared to interview with employers on the spot.

To help jobseekers prepare, Waubonsee also will offer free resume preparation help sessions from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, April 1, at the college's downtown Aurora Campus, 18 S. River St., Aurora, and Wednesday, April 2, at the Sugar Grove Campus.
