Visit Lake County announces photo contest winners

Submitted by Visit Lake County

Visit Lake County, the area's official destination marketing organization, recently completed a photo contest on its website, VisitLakeCounty.org.

Visit Lake County received 133 entries during the duration of the contest, ranging from natural beauty shots to Six Flags Great America, boating, family fun activities throughout the county, festivals, Naval Station Great Lakes and fireworks photos.

"We had some really impressive photos that showcased the area extremely well. Lake County has many talented photographers," said Visit Lake County Marketing Manager Anthony Haag.

"We looked for photos that really captured the area's beauty and people experiencing our attractions. The top three photos did a great job of conveying this."

The grand prize winner is Cheryl Keegan of Mundelein for her photo "My two sons sitting on a bench enjoying the sunset at Countryside Beach in Mundelein."

The second prize winner was Zhuowu Jiang of Lake Forest for his "Sunset with gorgeous clouds, observed from the Lake Michigan beach in Lake Forest." The third prize winner was Joanna Jagielska of Gurnee for her "Splashing in the water at Independence Grove" photo.

These photos can be viewed on the website at www.visitlakecounty.org/photocontestwinners.cfm. Visit Lake County thanks everyone who submitted a photo in the 2013 photo contest.
