Time Travelers Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary at Schaumburg Tennis Plus

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to Schaumburg Tennis Plus so he could laugh until he cried with Time Travelers.

Time Travelers Theatre Ensemble celebrated its 10 year anniversary at STP in Feb.

Time Travelers provides top-notch comedy in the form of scripted and improvisational skits, songs and games with the help of audience suggestions.

The free performances feature several highly talented actors per show out of a main group of 16. Many of the performers have taken classes at Second City and even take part in theater opportunities when not making people laugh at improv. Some write for plays, work back stage or perform but all love coming back to use their hilarious imaginations.

"I've been a part of Time Travelers for 12 years," said Nancy Braus, a Time Traveler comedian. "It's great! It is always refreshing to come back to Time Travelers after being away for a different show. Our improv is never the same and you can let go of any angst and be silly."

Attendees let go of angst and learn to be silly. Laughs are heard down the hall as suggestions are shouted.

"We've been to approximately 15 shows and love it. We plan ahead when we can attend as soon as the District releases the schedule," said Mary Lou Hammer. "It's like watching TV. You feel like you know them even though you don't. They're very funny and very welcoming."

Time Travelers Theatre Ensemble is held one Friday per month from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Schaumburg Tennis Plus Bar & Grill where food and beverages are available for purchase. No two shows are ever alike so head to STP and laugh until you cry.
