'Biggest Loser' auditions in Itasca on April 19

NBC's reality series “The Biggest Loser” is launching a seven-city, cross-country search for new contestants and will be in Itasca on Saturday, April 19.

“The Biggest Loser” has had one Chicago-area winner - Wheeling's Danni Allen - and several runners-up in its 15 seasons, and in May 2013 it opened the fourth of its “Biggest Loser” resorts at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca.

Auditions for the show will be held from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on April 19, at The Biggest Loser Resort, 1475 Nordic Road, Itasca.

The show recommends that applicants have at least 100 pounds to lose.

Casting producers say they are looking for “charismatic” individuals who want to change their lives and vie for a $250,000 grand prize. Contestants must be at least 18 years of age and legal residents of the U.S.

People will not be allowed to line up prior to three hours before the start of the open call. Candidates should bring a non-returnable photo of themselves.

People unable to attend a casting call can still apply and submit a videotape. Visit www.nbc.com/casting#bl16 and www.thebiggestlosercasting.com for instructions.

As well, one person who auditions in Itasca could win a one-week stay at the resort.

Auditions are also being held in Los Angeles, Boston, Birmingham, Charlotte, Oklahoma City and Salt Lake City.
