Orange Dream Cookies

1 box (18.25 ounces) orange cake mix

1 stick butter, softened butter

1 package (8 ounces) light cream cheese, softened

1 egg

1½ teaspoons vanilla extract

Powdered sugar for dipping

Place cake mix, butter and cream cheese into the work bowl of a stand mixer and beat on low. Once cake mix is no longer dry add in the egg and vanilla and bump up to medium speed until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Batter should be wet, but able to roll into balls.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease three or four cookie sheets. Place powdered sugar in a shallow bowl for dipping.

Roll dough into quarter-sized balls and dip the tops into powdered sugar. Place on prepared pans and bake 10-12 minutes.

Makes four dozen.

Cook's note: This recipe also works well with lemon cake mix.
