Save Buffalo Grove discusses flood plains

Buffalo Grove officials and members of the group Save Buffalo Grove will meet from 7 to 9:30 p.m. April 2 to discuss flood plains and the impact of potential development on the Buffalo Grove Golf Course.

The meeting "The Flood Plain on the Buffalo Grove Golf Course: Questions & Answers," will take place at the Village Tavern and Grille, 48 Raupp Road, and feature Village Engineer Darren Monico.

"The April 2 meeting is just the start of a series of meetings we hope to have on this topic. Our immediate objective is to get basic flood plain facts and ask some questions," said Leon Gopon, president of Save Buffalo Grove. "This is our information-gathering phase." The golf course has been discussed as site of a massive 65-acre "downtown Buffalo Grove" proposal that would include retail space, offices, a movie theater, restaurants and three residential towers.
