Palatine garage fire quickly extinguished
A garage fire late Friday night in Palatine was quickly contained, fire officials said Saturday.
The Palatine Fire Department was called to a report of a garage fire on the 900 block of South Boardwalk Court in Palatine at 10:07 p.m., and found smoke and fire in the attached garage of a two-story house.
Fire damage was contained to the garage and the three cars parked inside. The fire was declared under control at 10:20 p.m.
No damage estimate was immediately available. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The fire was fought by 24 firefighters. Rolling Meadows was among the initial responders as part of an automatic aid agreement, and Long Grove provided coverage for any additional calls.
