4-H robotics clubs meet in Elgin for annual showcase March 22

Interested in learning more about robotics? Come watch dozens of local 4-H robotics teams share their work at the second annual 4-H Robotics Showcase on Saturday afternoon, March 22, at Abbott Middle School, 949 Van St., Elgin.

The free event will feature more than 25 4-H robotics clubs and teams from DuPage, Kane & Kendall counties. The goal is to share their experiences, showcase their hard work and learn from each other.

The afternoon also includes demonstrations of various levels of robotics, including Junior FLL, FLL, FTC and Lego WeDo's, and there will be a hands-on kids area.

"Come check out what 4-H Robotics is all about!" said Donna Nuger, University of Illinois Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development. "This is a fantastic opportunity not just for our 4-H youth, but also for community members of all ages to check out the world of robotics."

The event action will begin at noon and wrap up about 5 p.m. It is hosted by University of Illinois Extension in cooperation with "got robot?" and the Abbott RoboWarriors. Food will be available for sale at the event.
