Fire damages Lake Zurich home
A fire damaged a two-story house Monday afternoon in Lake Zurich leaving it uninhabitable.
The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department responded to the call of a fire at about 1:15 p.m. on the 1000 block of Poplar Court, fire officials said in a release.
Firefighters arrived to light smoke coming from the second story. No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to firefighters while fighting the blaze.
Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Countryside, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, and Palatine fire departments assisted, while Wheeling and Fox River Grove provided station coverage.
The fire caused smoke and water damage. It remains under investigation.
