New Prospect High School dean appointed

The Northwest Suburban High School District 214 Board of Education on Thursday appointed Lisa Soukup to the position of Prospect High School dean of students.

Soukup has taught literature and composition at Rolling Meadows High School since 2002 and held numerous co-curricular assignments. She will replace Patricia Tedaldi-Monti, who will retire in June after 21 years as Prospect dean.

Before joining District 214, Soukup taught honors and Advanced Placement English, literature and composition at Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville, N.C. In her role at Rolling Meadows High School, she teaches Advanced Placement and American literature and composition and leads the school's Professional Learning Team for junior-level teachers.

She also has served stints as graduation and student council sponsor, director of the fall play and technical director of the fall and winter plays, variety show, musical and other special school events.

Soukup holds a master's degree in film and literature from Northern Illinois University and will complete a master's degree in school leadership from Concordia University Chicago in May.
