District 59 appoints principals, administrators

Elk Grove Township School District 59 officials this week announced the appointments of six principals - the result of current principals moving into new roles, retiring or leaving the district.

Michael Merritt will become the next principal of Brentwood Elementary School. He is currently a principal in Wilmington District 209.

Rachel Solomon was appointed principal of Clearmont Elementary School. She is currently an assistant principal in Plainfield District 202.

Jessica McCormick was selected as principal of Robert Frost Elementary School. She is currently principal of Century Oaks Elementary School in Elgin Area School District U-46.

John Harrington was named principal at Grove Junior High School. He is currently a division head at Rolling Meadows High School.

Thomas Seaton will become the new principal of Rupley Elementary School. He is currently principal of John Jay Elementary School. Seaton's replacement at John Jay is Mary Beth Niles, currently the school's assistant principal.

The school board also approved the appointments of Tom Luedloff as associate superintendent for human resources and instruction, Maureen McAbee as assistant superintendent for instruction, and Kelley Zerfahs as executive director for human resources.

All positions have an official start date of July 1.
