Scouting Bartlett: Proviso East vs. Glenbard North

No. 2 Proviso East (23-6) vs. No. 6 Glenbard North (22-5)

Outlook: Glenbard North gets to prove it deserved a higher seed in a showdown between conference champs. Both teams love to get up and down the court, and who could blame them? Proviso East boasts West Virginia-bound Jevon Carter, averaging 18 points and shooting at a 40 percent rate from 3-point range, and a roster filled with big-game experience. Glenbard North counters with Chip Flanigan, the Panthers' leading scorer at 20 points a game. With Jeremiah Fleming popping 3s on the perimeter, Glenbard North can score in a hurry. Flanigan and point guard Justin Jackson both go strong to the basket, and Kendall Holbert is a terrific defender. So even though the Panthers' strength is athleticism, they also can be physical when necessary. Any comparisons between these teams end with playoff experience. While the Pirates aim to move closer to a third straight sectional title, the previous two seasons resulting in second- and fourth-place finishes, Glenbard North seeks its first sectional final berth since its 2002 downstate run.

Advancement: The winner advances to play Tuesday's winner between No. 1 York (25-5) and No. 4 Morton (21-5) in Friday's sectional final.
