Victim of Woodstock fire identified

The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a house fire Thursday in Woodstock as Anita Kohl, 73.

An autopsy performed Friday found nothing suspicious, though a ruling on the cause of death is pending further laboratory and toxicologic testing, Dr. Anne Majewski, the coroner, said in a news release.

Firefighters responded to the 500 block of Kimball Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, said Woodstock Fire Capt. Michael Hill. The fire was under control within about 20 minutes. No one else was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Hill said. Woodstock Police and the state fire marshal's office are aiding in the investigation.
